The economy

Okay this weekend is tax free time! Get those incentive checks ready to spend. Personally we are looking for the latest and greatest in the washer/dryer categories. You can spend up to $2000.00 and receive a tax free purchase. A savings of at least $120.00; not too bad.

So, if you are looking for ways to improve your homes efficiency here are a few suggestions: new water heaters, washer/dryers and kitchen appliances are all out with products that help reduce energy consumption.

A small wood stove can help take the chill off of the house and save on heating fuel as well. You don't need to make it your primary source of heat but it can certainly assist in reducing costs. However, be prepared for the cost of a cord of wood, buy before the fall! Or if you have land with seasoned wood, consider using some of your own wood that may be already good to burn. Try not to burn 'green wood' though as it leaves heavy residue in your chimney.

So get out this weekend if you can and take advantage of that tax free purchase with the incentive money the government wants us to spend. I certainly plan to do just that!

Take care. Lea
